Challenges
Ehmke has used Model-Based Definition (MBD) since 2009 to meet defense customer requirements. While audit-ready and well established, its use was largely compliance-driven. They saw opportunity to:
- Increase efficiency through automation
- Reduce manual documentation effort
- Improve alignment between engineering and manufacturing
- Extend MBD into quality workflows
The goal was deeper integration — not system replacement.
