John Walker comes to DVIRC as Business Development Director focused upon building new client relationships in the Philadelphia region.
John has held various positions in R&D, process development, manufacturing, marketing, sales, business development and strategic accounts for large Fortune 500 companies (DuPont, Bristol Myers Squibb, Reckitt Benckiser and Celgene) as well as several biotech start-up companies. He has also worked as an independent business consultant in market access, distribution, product launch, sales management and national account strategy. While at DuPont, John supported the development and manufacture of sulfonylurea herbicides, developed a national accounts program for the radiopharmaceutical business, and helped launch a suite of consulting services from the DuPont Sustainable Solutions platform. He led national account teams in negotiating distribution, purchasing and formulary agreements for various pharmaceutical, imaging and biotech businesses.
John holds a BS in chemical engineering from Virginia Tech and an MBA from Widener University. He pursued graduate work in counseling psychology and completed Stanford University’s Advanced Graduate Management Program.
Outside of work, John is a 20-year veteran scoutmaster for a local Boy Scout troop. He enjoys classical music, cycling and wilderness camping and fishing. He and his wife Molly live in Wilmington, DE where they have raised 3 grown sons who, like their father, are Eagle scouts.
