Workforce Development
The DVIRC Regional Initiatives Team has been working to gather the data, curriculum and partners needed to develop breakthrough manufacturing education programs for students and adult learners who want to take advantage of high-technology careers in advanced manufacturing.
For the first time, individuals can choose a solid career in manufacturing and a college degree. Through a series of entry level and advanced skill certifications leading to college degrees from Delaware County Community College and Drexel University in partnership with the DVIRC...individuals can be prepared for starting or advancing their careers. These two new programs - the Manufacturing Technologies Program (MTP) and the Dual Enrollment Program in Applied Engineering Technology (AET) provide educational and career pathways to students at all levels. As exciting as the new programs are for students, they are even more important to our customers because they are designed to supply manufacturers with the skilled workforce they need to compete.
