Continuous improvement and optimized productivity are key
issues for all manufacturers. Education and training processes
are essential elements to any operation. The DVIRC focuses a
major portion of its resources to all facets of education, training
and workforce development. Recognizing the need to bring
world-class best practices to our region, the Institute for World
Class Manufacturing® was established in 1993. A decade later,
we offer training solutions for all areas of your manufacturing
business.
"The representatives at the DVIRC were extremely supportive of Airedale North
America in fulfilling their broad training requirements. Our training needs
ranged from CAD training to Quality Management Systems. We recently received
our certification in ISO9001:2000. Without their support, this venture would
have been much more difficult.
I would recommend the DVIRC's services to any company looking to improve
their productivity and services."

Partnering with DVIRC started our company on the lean journey. We are now 2
years into the lean program and are seeing significant results. We have had
several employees participate in off site training at DVIRC as well as held
several DVIRC sponsored events at our facility. We have also utilized DVIRC
for more focused consulting purposes with great success. All have increased
the value of our organization to our customer base. We have experienced a
50% reduction in set up on one of our key process, reduced inventory levels
by 20%, converted our mold shop to a cellular operation and employed 5S
techniques in several areas. Lean has impacted positively not only on our
production floor but has greatly improved our front end activities.
Stockwell's partnership with DVIRC has resulted in continual improvement in
all aspect of our business."

Special Events and Guest Speakers
The DVIRC works to bring Special Events to manufacturers that provide
access to World-Class Practitioners like Dr. Richard Schonberger, and
controversial topics like International Competition. We feel it's our responsibility to address even
the difficult issues, and provide the manufacturers in our region with the
latest information, no matter the topic.
There are usually two or three Special Events each year, either in the
form of a Guest Speaker or forum for industry issues. Click on the images
below to see reviews of some of our recent Special Events and
Guest Speakers.
