Aerospace manufacturing business receives Nadcap accreditation

September 28, 2011

The National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program (Nadcap) for Non-Metallic Materials Manufacturing (NMMM) recently gave approval to Park Aircraft Technologies Corp. This business, a subsidiary of Park Electrochemical Corp., was honored for the excellence of its manufacturing processes and the quality of its products.

This honor is administered by the non-profit group Performance Review Institute (PRI), which manages Nadcap and also functions as an organization promoting the interests and well-being of companies in the high-tech manufacturing, aerospace and advanced materials industries. PRI also offers a number of other accreditation, quality assurance and certification services in sectors aside from aerospace.

Park Aircraft Technologies is one of the only businesses around the globe to receive Nadcap accreditation. This was confirmed in a statement by Joe Pinto, PRI’s Vice President and CEO.

“Achieving Nadcap accreditation is not easy,” Pinto said. “It is one of the ways in which the aerospace industry identifies those who excel at manufacturing quality product[s] through superior special processes.”

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, numerous job openings are expected to emerge in the aerospace and parts manufacturing industry, but overall, wage and salary employment in the sector are expected to either remain static or change in a negligible fashion between 2008 and 2018.
